EU and Competition
Mannheimer Swartling was the first Swedish law firm to establish a special practice group for EU and competition law. Today, the firm is ranked by the Global Competition Review as one of the 100 best law firms in the world in the competition area. With many years of experience, we can offer fast and efficient advice from our leading team of 25 lawyers.
Our practice is largely concentrated in Stockholm and Brussels. Our presence in Brussels puts us in close daily contact with the EU institutions, which facilitates matter management and the on-going monitoring of legal developments. We also have a well-established practice in Berlin where we mainly represent Scandinavian clients in relation to German competition law issues. We also offer advice on Russian and Chinese competition law through our offices in those countries.
The group’s practice mainly consists of:
- Advice/management of applications to the European Commission and other competition authorities in conjunction with mergers and acquisitions
- EU and competition law litigation and arbitration
- Advice on prohibited agreements on restrictive practices and abuse of dominant market position
- Public procurement
- State aid
- Free movement of goods and services and general EC law
- Anti-dumping and trade law legislation
All our lawyers are used to working with lawyers in other countries. For all of them, English is a natural working language and a number of our lawyers are proficient in French and German.
