Mannheimer Swartling Sustainability Report 2023

In 2023, the world once again faced numerous crises, not least Russia’s continued invasion of Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas war. These serve as a stark reminder of the fragility of global peace and highlight the importance of cooperation and diplomacy in an interconnected world.

In this global landscape, sustainability challenges are exacerbated by the impact of these crises on society – including the environment, economy and social structures. We are often faced with a difficult balancing act between short-term needs and long-term sustainability goals – for example, ensuring energy security while advancing the green transition. At Mannheimer Swartling, we acknowledge our responsibility in promoting sustainable development through our client work and our community involvement. As strategic advisors, we analyse how different crises are interconnected and help our clients to be proactive in a volatile world.

We invite you to read our 2023 Sustainability Report to track our progress across three sustainability pillars: legal advice, internally within the firm, and in society.

Highlights include:

  • Sustainability and ESG: Our cross-practice framework for delivering coordinated sustainability advice to clients
  • Sustainable by design: Our model for integrating sustainable outcomes into our day-to-day work
  • Mannheimer Swartling in Society: How we support important community initiatives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Diversity and inclusion: Our continuous efforts and progress updates
  • Health and wellbeing: Initiatives to support the physical and mental wellness of our team
  • Climate and environment: Updates on our targets and progress
  • Ethics and compliance: An overview of our policies and commitment to ethical conduct
