European Commission approves ASSA ABLOY’s acquisition of agta record
On 27 February 2020, the European Commission approved ASSA ABLOY’s acquisition of agta record, subject to the implementation of certain commitments (including divestments).
ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in access solutions. ASSA ABLOY operates worldwide with 49,000 employees and sales of SEK 94 billion.
Agta record is a well-established manufacturer of automatic pedestrian entrance systems, based in Switzerland. ASSA ABLOY acquired agta record on 6 March 2019, from the owners of Agta Finance.
As part of the clearance decision by the European Commission, ASSA ABLOY has offered commitments including divestments of businesses in six countries and exclusive licenses in three countries.
