Caroline Hansson is a partner at Mannheimer Swartling and a member of the firm’s Corporate Commercial practice group, as well as its Defence and Security and Healthcare and Life Sciences industry groups. She specialises in complex commercial contracts, particularly focusing on strategic collaborations, business-critical supply relationships, and contractual matters relating to security of supply and total defence.
She advises Swedish and international companies, as well as public-sector organisations, on strategically important and legally complex projects. She has extensive experience in large-scale development and collaboration projects, industrial collaborations and complex procurement, supply, service, sales and distribution agreements. She provides advice throughout the entire contract lifecycle, from initial strategic considerations and structuring to negotiation, contract management, and adapting to changing circumstances in long-term contractual relationships.
A key part of Caroline’s work involves providing guidance on commercial and contractual issues in the context of security of supply and total defence. She assists companies and public-sector organisations in analysing, structuring and negotiating agreements designed to ensure robust supply arrangements and long-term security of supply. This includes matters relating to security and continuity of supply, capacity, stockholding, prioritisation and managing disruptions and other changes in circumstances. She frequently works on agreements and collaborations where commercial interests must be balanced with requirements relating to resilience, preparedness, and access to essential goods and services. Her specialist expertise in complex commercial contracts combined with her experience of security-of-supply matters means she is regularly engaged on projects at the intersection of business-critical, regulatory, and wider societal interests.
She also lectures law students on subjects including international sales law and negotiation techniques. She joined Mannheimer Swartling in 2011 and has also worked at the firm’s New York office.
