Environmental permit to extend the Stockholm metro from Odenplan to Arenastaden
Under the 2013 Stockholm Agreement it was decided to expand the Stockholm metro system to Nacka, Arenastaden and Barkarby, and for the blue metro line to be extended to Gullmarsplan and be connected to the green metro line in order to increase passenger capacity through central Stockholm. The expansion includes eleven new metro stations, 20 kilometers of new metro line and the construction of 82 000 new residences in connection to the new metro stations.
On 25 May 2018, the Land and Environment Court at Nacka District Court granted Stockholm County Council an environmental permit regarding the a new metro line (the yellow line) from Odenplan to Arenastaden. The permit has gained legal force.
