RES completes sale of its largest BESS project in the Nordics
RES has sold Project Agamemnon, a 70MW/160MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Ånge Municipality, to Delta Capacity, a Swiss-based developer of utility-scale battery storage solutions, with financial backing from Wood & Co., a leading European investment bank and asset manager. This is RES’s largest BESS project in the Nordic region to date and marks the company’s fifth successful project in Ånge municipality.
The project has been developed from the ground up by RES and is now being acquired as a fully ready-to-build asset. Delta Capacity plans to commence work on the storage facility, which is expected to supply up to fifty thousand of homes for two hours of uninterrupted power supply. The storage facility is set to play a crucial role in enabling grid stability and maximizing the value of renewable energy in the region.
RES is the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, working across 24 countries and active in wind, solar, energy storage, green hydrogen, transmission and distribution.
RES was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction.
