Mannheimer Swartling joins Net Zero Lawyers Alliance

As part of Mannheimer Swartling’s broader sustainability strategy, the firm takes another step in its climate and environmental work by becoming a member of the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA).

As a member of NZLA, we become part of a network to mobilise lawyers and law firms to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions. We do this by working on our own existing commitments and targets to reduce our climate impact, as well as to embed climate-conscious lawyering throughout our practice areas.

– We have long recognised the importance of matching our internal ambition to our external advice around sustainability matters. Our NZLA membership is yet another tool in our toolbox to accelerate the transition to net zero, both in terms of our own impacts but also how we support our clients to navigate a just transition, says Sarah Hoskins, Head of Sustainability at Mannheimer Swartling.

– We are proud to join NZLA as it is an important step that will further drive and bolster the firm’s climate and environmental work, in line with other initiatives that we participate in, such as the Science Based Targets initiative and the Green Pledge for more environmentally friendly arbitration procedures, says Jan Dernestam, Managing Partner at Mannheimer Swartling.

Our near term target: Mannheimer Swartling commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2019 base year, and scope 3 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2018 base year.
