Green Investment Group acquires the wind farm Hornamossen

Green Investment Group (“GIG”), the specialist green energy principal investment business of Macquarie Group, has acquired a 100% interest in the 43 MW wind farm Hornamossen from Nordic wind power developer OX2.

The Hornamossen wind farm, located in Habo kommun, will consist of 10 Siemens Gamesa 4.3 MW direct drive turbines. Construction is expected to commence in early July 2019 with commercial operations projected in Q4 2020. OX2 will continue to act as the project’s asset manager throughout construction and operations under a bespoke engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract.

GIG has currently sourced and structured PPAs for almost 1 GW of onshore wind capacity in Sweden, which represents approximately 10% of Sweden’s total onshore wind installed capacity.

GIG was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction.
