Angela Bergman Evans is a Senior Associate in Mannheimer Swartling’s Dispute Resolution and Corporate Sustainability and Risk Management (CSRM) practice groups. She has represented clients in international commercial and investor-state arbitration proceedings under the ICSID, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, and SCC rules, as well as in proceedings before the World Bank Sanctions Board and the International Court of Justice. She has appeared on behalf of the applicant in several landmark human rights cases before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, including as lead counsel.

Angela also has a specialist practice in business and human rights. Trained by the late Professor John Ruggie, she regularly advises clients on alignment with international standards including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and compliance with EU sustainability legislation. Angela was an advisor to the United Nations on business and human rights and the SDGs between 2014 and 2016. In 2020, she worked on the global project team advising the PRI, UNEP FI, and the Generation Foundation on investing for sustainability impact.
