E.ON sells and will build one of the largest wind farms in Europe

E.ON has sold 80% of its 475 megawatt Nysäter project in Västernorrland, Sweden, to a fund managed by Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP), an experienced financial investor, solely dedicated to the energy sector.

Together the parties will build one of the largest wind farms in Europe, entailing a total investment of around 500 million euros. The project is supported by a power purchase agreement and will be equipped with 114 turbines from the German manufacturer Nordex Group. E.ON will also operate the wind farm under a long-term O&M.

The transaction is part of E.ON’s strategy to expand its position for onshore wind energy in Europe and Nysäter means a significant expansion of its Scandinavian portfolio.

E.ON was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction.
