Stegra closes EUR 1.4 billion financing round

Stegra has completed a EUR 1.4 billion financing round led by a Wallenberg Investments-led consortium, with strong support from existing investors and the original lender groups.

The financing round, which was announced in April 2026, has now been completed following the required approvals. The Wallenberg Investments-led consortium comprises existing investors IMAS and Temasek, as well as new investors Bolero and SEB-Stiftelsen. A large group of Stegra’s existing shareholders also continue to invest in the company.

The financing has also received 100 per cent approval from Stegra’s lender group. All banks participating in Stegra’s financing package continue to support the project, and the company will retain access to the undrawn debt facilities established as part of its 2024 financing.

The financing strengthens Stegra’s financial position and supports the continued completion and commissioning of the company’s large-scale green steel plant in Boden, Sweden.

Mannheimer Swartling advised Stegra on the financing round. The team included Andreas Zettergren, Fredrik Lundegårdh, Zoran Stambolovski, Maria Holme, Marcus Ringborg, Charlotte Demegård, Christian Andersson, Clara Håkansson, Ella Schelin, Jacob Vestgöte Norell, Jennifer Ågren Ylinenjarvi, Klara Hellström Ängerud, Ludvig Andersson, Mikaela Thordson, Nora Jensen, Wiktor Brandell, Wilhelm Westberg, Joar Mally, Jonas Widgren, Fanny Tillaeus och Frida Blomberg.
