Landskrona Stad wins insurance dispute before the court of appeal
In a judgment by the Svea court of appeal dated 27 May 2019, Landskrona Stad was awarded insurance compensation from Codan Forsikring A/S, acting through its branch office Trygg-Hansa Försäkring Filial, for damages that Landskrona Stad was obligated to pay as a consequence of a fire in a building in Landskrona in 2002. The dispute concerned several issues of insurance law, such as issues of subrogation, limitation, and the insurance undertakings’ allocation of insurance compensation between several injured parties.
