Alight completes financing for the construction and operation of a 64 MW solar park in Norrtälje, Sweden

Alight’s solar power project reached financial close on 16 June 2023.

The project will be financed by equity from Alight and through project financing provided by Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ).

Alight, a leading solar developer and independent power producer will build, own and operate the project, which consists of a 64 MW solar farm in Hallstavik outside Norrtälje, Sweden. The solar park, which will be about 71 hectares (equivalent to 101 football fields), will deliver an expected annual production of about 63 GWh (equivalent to the electricity consumption of roughly 12,600 villas). Construction will begin the week commencing 19 June 2023 and the solar park is expected to be operational during the second half of 2024.

Axfood AB, a prominent food retail group in Sweden, has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Alight to purchase clean energy at a fixed price for 12 years.

Alight was represented by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction.
