Proposal for further amendments to the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) – the Council and the European Parliament propose postponement of the entry into force of the rules
On 21 October 2025, the European Commission published a proposal for amendments to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aimed at facilitating the implementation of the regulatory framework. The Commission also proposed that the date of application should be postponed for certain operators. In November, both the Council and the European Parliament supported a postponement of the EUDR for all operators with an additional year – until 30 December 2026 for large and medium-sized enterprises and until 30 June 2027 for micro and small operators. In addition, further simplifications of the regulatory framework have been proposed.
