Skyborn Renewables granted permit for the Fyrskeppet Offshore wind farm
The Swedish Government has decided to grant a permit under the Act on Sweden’s Exclusive Economic Zone for the establishment of a large-scale offshore wind farm in the southern Gulf of Bothnia.
Fyrskeppet Offshore is located in Sweden’s exclusive economic zone, approximately 50 km off the coast of Uppland. The permit covers up to 93 wind turbines with a maximum total height of 350 metres. The wind farm will make a significant contribution of renewable electricity to the Swedish grid. The permitting process has been ongoing since 2023 and has been extensive. The project has also been granted a Natura 2000 permit through a judgment of the Land and Environment Court at Nacka District Court earlier this year in case M 3308-25. Fyrskeppet Offshore is to date the only offshore project along Sweden’s east coast to have been granted a permit by the Government.
Mannheimer Swartling acts as counsel in the permitting proceedings for Fyrskeppet Offshore. The firm’s team consists primarily of Madeleine Edqvist, Victoria Bertilsson, Anna Ekström-Ståhl and Anna Paulin-Rosell.
