Summa Equity through NG Group acquires Fortum Recycling & Waste

Summa Equity, a thematic impact investment firm, has acquired Fortum’s recycling and waste business through its portfolio company NG Group. The transaction is valued at approximately EUR 800 million on a debt- and cash-free basis.

Fortum’s recycling and waste business encompasses municipal and industrial waste management, as well as the treatment and recycling of plastics, metals, ash, slag, and hazardous waste with operations in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway, employing approximately 900 people.

By combining Summa Equity’s NG Group with Fortum’s recycling and waste business, a Nordic leader in the circular economy is being created, which will provide customers with innovative and comprehensive solutions across the entire value chain.
