Statement on Iran

We are appalled by the ongoing situation in Iran since the arrest of Jina Mahsa Amini by the so-called morality police and her death in police custody on 16 September. The violence committed against protestors is inexcusable. Many of our and our clients’ employees have Iranian heritage and, as lawyers, we will always stand up for democracy and freedom of speech. We will always demand the protection of human rights and the rule of law. We are finding ways to support the Iranian people including using our involvement with the International Bar Association to push for universal condemnation of the Iranian regime’s actions and to call for protection of the fundamental freedoms of the people of Iran.
