Centrica acquires Swedish battery storage facilities

Centrica has entered into an agreement with Fu-Gen, pursuant to which Centrica has the right to acquire up to nine construction-ready battery storage facilities located in Sweden.

The facilities have an aggregated maximum capacity exceeding 100 MW, and the first assets are planned to be operational in 2026. The transaction broadens Centrica’s presence in the international energy market and marks its first acquisition in Sweden.

Centrica is a multinational energy company and is, operating under the trading names British Gas (England and Wales) and Scottish Gas (Scotland), the largest supplier of gas to domestic customers in the United Kingdom and one of the largest suppliers of electricity. Centrica is listed on the London Stock Exchange (FTSE 100).

Centrica was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction.
