Stockholm Resilience Foundation and Mannheimer Swartling enter collaboration to strengthen resilience in business and society
Stockholm Resilience Foundation and Mannheimer Swartling have entered into a partnership aimed at supporting the research of the Stockholm Resilience Centre to advance science for a liveable planet.
The collaboration reflects a growing recognition of the importance of cross-sector partnerships in translating scientific knowledge into real-world impact. By connecting academic excellence with business perspectives, the partnership aims to support more resilient and sustainable practices in both society and the economy.
“Working towards a resilient and sustainable future requires science-based collaboration across sectors. Beyond the support to our research, this collaboration also offers opportunities for mutual learning and new discoveries, between academia and business, and across industries”, says Lisen Schultz, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
“We see this collaboration as an important platform for learning and exchange”, agrees Jan Dernestam, Managing Partner at Manheimer Swartling. “Through enhanced access and understanding of the Stockholm Resilience Centre and its world-leading research, we extend our toolbox in the transition towards business within planetary boundaries.”
“As legal advisors, we are deeply involved in how business gets done”, adds Sarah Hoskins, Chief Sustainability Officer at Mannheimer Swartling. “This partnership helps us support crucial work while strengthening our own – bringing science-based insights into how we assess risk and advise clients on building resilience from a legal and strategic standpoint”.
Stockholm Resilience Centre was established in 2007 as an interdisciplinary centre within Stockholm University, based on the insight that the biosphere, society and economy should be studied as one system to address the complex challenges that humanity faces. For Mannheimer Swartling, the partnership underscores a commitment to learning and leading towards sustainability and knowledge-driven engagement.
