New case law – question as to whether reading extracts from criminal records is covered by the General Data Protection Regulation (AD 2026 nr 27)

At the employer’s request, an employee provided the employer with a criminal record extract, which the employer read. The Labour Court has ruled that merely receiving and reading the criminal record extract does not fall within the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation.
