Vattenfall and Industrikraft enter into agreement on new nuclear power in Sweden
Industrikraft i Sverige AB, an industrial consortium, has signed an agreement with Vattenfall AB to acquire 20 per cent of the shares in Videberg Kraft AB. Industrikraft consists of ABB, Alfa Laval, Boliden, Hitachi Energy, Höganäs AB, SSAB, Saab, Stora Enso and the Volvo group. The transaction is expected to close in January 2026.
Videberg Kraft AB, which will build and operate new nuclear reactors, has applied to the Government Offices of Sweden for state aid to support an investment in new nuclear power for the Videberg nuclear power project on the peninsula Värö in Varberg.
Vattenfall was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The team consisted of Mattias Karlsson, Johan Granehult, Fredrik Sjövall, Stefan Perván Lindeborg, Linn Roberts, Mathilda Haglund, Filip Lassing, Victoria Hedell, Sofia Liljenfeldt, Max Karlsson and Jonathan Hörnblad.
