The Swedish Transport Administration entered into an agreement with Robel and Plasser Scandinavia

The Swedish Transport Administration entered into an agreement with Robel and Plasser Scandinavia on 15 December 2025 for the delivery of three maintenance trains, including ten years of vehicle maintenance. The agreement also includes an option for the Swedish Transport Administration to call off two additional vehicles. The total contract value amounts to approximately SEK 1.6 billion.

The new maintenance trains represent a strategic investment to streamline the maintenance of the railway network. The trains will enable the Swedish Transport Administration’s contractors to carry out maintenance work whilst other trains pass at full speed on adjacent tracks, aiming to achieve faster and more precise work as well as improved safety for employees at the facility. The first train is scheduled for delivery in 2030.

Mannheimer Swartling is advising the Swedish Transport Administration in the procurement. The firm’s team primarily consists of Ellen Alders, Martin Pekkari, Mika Gauffin and Lovisa Jönsson.
