Saab AB divests TransponderTech AB

Saab AB divests TransponderTech AB, a leading provider of Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), VHF Data Exchange Systems (VDES) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), to Teledyne Technologies’ Swedish subsidiary, FLIR Systems AB, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of thermal imaging infrared cameras.

The divestment aligns with Saab’s strategy to increase its focus on core business areas, and moving forward, TransponderTech will become part of  Teledyne FLIR’s Maritime group, which includes Raymarine, FLIR Marine, and ChartWorld.

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

Saab was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team consisted primarily of Emma Olnäs Fors, Christian Merenius och Nelly Sigurdson, Jens Agö, Carolina Dackö, Sandra Torpheimer, Tova Winsten, Lina Lundberg, Saleh Ashkar och Ellinor Nilsson.
