Framtidens Bredband enters into agreement with GlobalConnect

Framtidens Bredband, comprising the municipal housing companies Bostads AB Poseidon, Göteborgs Stads Bostadsaktiebolag, Familjebostäder i Göteborg AB, Förvaltnings AB GöteborgsLokaler and Gårdstensbostäder AB in Gothenburg, entered into an agreement with GlobalConnect AB on 29 December 2025 regarding communication operator services and operation of the technical network.

The agreement constitutes the third-generation service concession procurement for communication operator services.

More than 79,000 apartments and commercial premises in Gothenburg are covered by the agreement, which therefore represents the largest communication operator mandate in Sweden. The agreement remains in effect until 8 October 2034.

Framtidens Bredband is an open fibre network providing digital services within broadband, television and telephony.

GlobalConnect acts as a communication operator for approximately 700,000 households in apartment buildings and single-family homes across Sweden and has agreements with several of Sweden’s largest municipal and private housing companies.
