On 17 July 2025, Viaplay Group AB (publ) (“Viaplay”) announced that it, through a wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement with Telenor Communication II AS (“Telenor”) to acquire Telenor’s 50 per cent stake in Allente Group AB (“Allente”).
Through the transaction, Viaplay becomes the sole owner of Allente.
In connection with the acquisition, Viaplay has entered into an agreement regarding new credit facilities of approximately SEK 4.2 billion with a syndicate of Nordic banks, of which approximately SEK 2.5 billion will be used as working capital for the group.

In Sweden, Allente also offers standalone broadband solutions. The company was founded in 2020 through the merger of Canal Digital (Telenor) and Viasat (Viaplay) and has since been jointly owned and operated by Viaplay and Telenor with a 50/50 ownership.
The bank syndicate was represented by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team primarily consisted of Daniel Khayyami, Emil Görrel, Alfred Petersson, Christian Andersson and Susanna Aulin.
