The Report on the implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive
The Swedish Government announced in March 2026, that it considers the Pay Transparency Directive to be far too administratively burdensome and that it therefore intends to seek a postponement of the implementation date and to initiate a renegotiation of the directive.
The European Commission has now issued an informal statement indicating that it will not take any measures to grant a postponement of implementation.
The Government has not yet announced when the preparatory works will be presented or when the Pay Transparency Directive can be implemented in Swedish law.
