E.ON divests its shareholding in Kalmar Energi
E.ON Sverige AB is divesting its entire stake in Kalmar Energi to Nordion Energi AB. Since the early 2000s, E.ON has held a 50/50 joint ownership stake in Kalmar Energi Holding alongside Kalmar Municipality, as well as a separate stake in the electricity trading company. The transaction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026, subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.
Kalmar Energi supplies electricity, district heating, fibre and energy services to 27,000 electricity retail customers, 2,500 district heating customers and 22,000 electricity network customers. The company has a turnover of approximately SEK 700 million and employs around 100 people.
