Lars Kongstad is a member of the firm’s Corporate Commercial, Tech, Intellectual Property (CTIP), Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups. Lars Kongstad has been frequently involved and retained as a lead counsel and a trusted advisor in numerous international and cross-border procurement projects, joint ventures, transactions and investments for more than 30 years. He assists the firm’s clients as client responsible and co-ordination of such clients’ general legal issues, including long-term and strategic commercial agreements (such as concession, processing and supply agreements). He also advises clients in setting up strategic alliances and joint ventures and has developed expertise in joint venture and shareholders questions and solutions including corporate governance and shareholders, directors and managers liabilities and investments in incentive programs.
Examples of his services includes representing clients as lead lawyer: (i) Arlandabanan Project; (ii) Long-term strategic agreements within processing, production and assembly industries; (iii) Concession Agreements and mergers within the Port industry; (iv) cross border acquisitions, joint ventures and related services; and (v) management incentive programs (MIP).
Joint ventures, projects and transactions have included companies having headquarters in many different jurisdictions such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Lithuania, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, Ukraine and US.
Lars Kongstad has been resident and practised law in New York and Moscow and managing partner of the Malmö Office during 2001-2002, 2015-2018 and 2020. Lars Kongstad has been the firm responsible partner and lecturer for Göran Linders course in commercial contract law at University of Lund during 1998-2013 and 2015-2020.
Lars Kongstad has served in election committees and as a board member for clients, as well as for the Swedish Bar Association Southern Chapter, where he served as a board member, vice chairman and chairman of the board from 2001-2010. Lars Kongstad has, since 2005, served as a board member and vice chairman of the Swedish football club Malmö FF and as a member of the financial platform Financial Meetings Øresund´s Advisory Board since 2014.
