Swedish Investment Arbitration Pre-Moot Court Competition; Mannheimer Swartling proud sponsor 

Teams representing Goethe Universität Frankfurt and Moscow State University tied in the first Swedish Investment Arbitration Pre-Moot Court Competition. The competition, arranged by Uppsala University and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) in co-operation with Mannheimer Swartling, is a pre-moot to the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (FIAM).

The “Mannheimer Swartling Prize for Best Individual Advocacy” was awarded to Daria Kuznetsnova from Moscow State University.

As part of the Pre-Moot, a seminar for the competing teams was held at the SCC, followed by a reception at Mannheimer Swartling. The seminar addressed recent developments in investment arbitration and included presentations from Andrina Sukma, SCC Legal Counsel, Prof. Kaj Hobér, and Jakob Ragnwaldh, partner at Mannheimer Swartling. At the pre-moot, Anna Alriksson, Karl Guterstam and Brian Kotick, practitioners in Mannheimer Swartling’s dispute resolution group, all sat as arbitrators.

The Pre-Moot was held in Stockholm and Uppsala from 20-21 February and was organized by Joel Dahlquist, PhD candidate at Uppsala University, and Celeste Salinas Quero, SCC Legal Counsel. Approximately 50 students, practitioners and law school faculty participated in the event. The students competing in the Pre-Moot represented the following universities:

  • Goethe Universität Frankfurt, Germany
  • Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany
  • University of Lapland, Finland
  • Moscow State University, Russia
  • University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg
  • Belarus International University, Belarus
