SL commissions Ansaldo STS for railway safety and signaling system
Stockholm Public Transport (SL) has commissioned Ansaldo STS for a new safety and signaling system for the Stockholm metro. The initial contract covers delivery, installation and maintenance of a new safety and signaling system for the Stockholm metro’s Red Line and is valued at approximately SEK 700 million. In addition to the initial order, SL has the option to expand the mandate to include supply, installation and maintenance of a new safety and signaling system for the metro’s Blue Line and to extend the maintenance period for the systems up to 25 years.
SL, a limited company owned by the Stockholm County Council, is responsible for the network of public transportation alternatives in the County of Stockholm and employs approximately 500 people to work with the planning, purchasing, administration, development and marketing of public transport services.
