Scandic expands in Berlin
Scandic is increasing its presence in Germany by taking over the Alsterhof Hotel in Berlin. The Alsterhof Hotel, which will be changing its name to Scandic Berlin Kurfürstendamm on 1 September 2014, has approximately 200 rooms, conference facilities and is located in the old district of Kurfürstendamm.
Scandic is the market leading hotel chain in the Nordic region with nearly 230 hotels in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland.
Scandic was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team in Berlin was led by Maria Wolleh and included Thilo Schulz (real estate) and Ulf Christoph Lohrum (employment).
