Chambers Europe presents André Andersson with an ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award and names Mannheimer Swartling ‘Best Swedish Firm of the Year’
André Andersson first lawyer from Scandinavia to win ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Award
Chambers & Partners has bestowed an ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award on Swedish lawyer André Andersson, in recognition of his “Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession”. André Andersson is the first lawyer from Scandinavia – and one of only four lawyers in Europe – to receive this award since it was established in 2008.
André Andersson chairs the firm’s Banking and Finance practice group and works in particular with the structuring of different types of financial transactions. “André Andersson is one of the most renowned practitioners in the Swedish legal market. With enthusiasm and creativity he has developed the practice of banking law in Sweden and been the mentor for a whole generation of finance lawyers”, says Chambers in the motivation for the award.
According to representatives from Chambers, the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award, “seeks to spotlight individuals who have stood out throughout their career for excellence in the practice of law and as driving forces for business development and innovation. In short, lawyers who have set the standard in their home markets, as well as on the international stage, for their achievements and contributions”.
Mannheimer Swartling once again named ‘Best Swedish Firm of the Year’
At the Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence ceremony, Mannheimer Swartling was named ‘Best Swedish Firm of the Year’. The honour is bestowed on the basis of research carried out for Chambers Europe 2011 and reflects a law firm’s pre-eminence in key practice areas and reflect notable achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service. Mannheimer Swartling was also the recipient of this award in 2009.
In addition to its European law firm directory, Chambers and Partners publishes an international directory, Chambers Global, in which Mannheimer Swartling earlier this year received very high rankings in the practice areas: Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, and Restructuring/Insolvency.
“This recognition is a tribute to André and an honour for Mannheimer Swartling. It reflects the quality of our individual practitioners and the capabilities of our practice. We are fortunate to have the trust of our clients to handle their most challenging matters. They expect the best advice and solutions from us – and our ambition always is to exceed their expectations.” Jan Dernestam, Managing Partner, Mannheimer Swartling.
