Juni Technology AB secures an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority

On October 13, 2022, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority granted Juni Technology AB (Juni) authorisation under the Swedish Electronic Money Act to issue electronic money and to provide certain payment services under the Swedish Payment Services Act.

Juni was founded in 2020 by Samir El-Sabini and Anders Orsedal, and is backed by, Ventures, Felix Capital, Cherry Ventures and others. A financial platform built for ecommerce, Juni gives ecommerce businesses a unified view of their finances with cards, multi-currency accounts, and accounting, banking and advertising integrations – all in one place.

CEO and co-founder Samir El Sabini describes obtaining the licence as an important milestone for Juni: enabling an even more robust legal and regulatory framework and the ability to leverage the EMI licence to broaden the range of payment products and services for customers.

Mannheimer Swartling has acted as advisor to Juni Technology AB.
