Diaverum acquires PZU Diamed Macedonia

Diaverum enters the Macedonian market through the acquisition of PZU Diamed Macedonia. This is one of the biggest investments from Sweden since Macedonia gained its independence twenty-seven years ago.

PZU Diamed Macedonia is since 2014 operating nine dialysis centres, after being awarded one of two lots in a national public tender. The tender has a duration of twenty years and will last until 2034. The former owner of PZU Diamed Macedonia will following the acquisition stay on as a Country Manager in Macedonia.

Diaverum is one of the world’s leading providers of renal care and the largest independent service provider in Europe. Diaverum’s experience in renal care dates back twenty-five years, when the first dialysis clinic in what is now Diaverum was established. Since then, Diaverum has been at the forefront of the renal service markets. Operations currently span 18 countries and serve a patient base of more than 33 000 individuals.

Diaverum was advised by Mannheimer Swartling, assisted by local counsel Polenak Law Firm.
