The city of Malmö establishes SEK 10 billion EMTN programme
The City of Malmö has established a SEK 10 billion Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme. The proceeds from issues of notes under the programme will be used for general financing purposes and the refinancing of existing debt of MKB Fastighets AB, the City’s wholly-owned real estate company.
Malmö is the commercial centre of southern Sweden and an international city with 300 000 residents from approximately 170 different nationalities. The city is undergoing a transition from being an industrial city to a city of knowledge, with older industries being replaced by investments in new technology and training programmes. The strongest sectors in Malmö are logistics, retail and wholesale trade, construction, and property. There are also a number of well-known companies within biotechnology and medical technology, environmental technology, IT, and digital media fields.
The City of Malmö was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the matter. The firm’s team included partner Zoran Stambolovski and associate Maria Tholin.
