Stockholm County Council signs PPP agreement for New Karolinska University Hospital

Stockholm County Council has signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with Swedish Hospital Partners, a project company formed by Skanska and British investment fund Innisfree, to develop, build, operate, maintain and finance the New Karolinska Solna University Hospital (NKS). Additional partners in the project include Skanska Health Care, with responsibility for design and construction, and Coor Service Management, with responsibility for technical maintenance and facility management services.

The New Karolinska Solna University Hospital is the first project within the Swedish healthcare industry to be undertaken as a public-private partnership. The hospital will provide healthcare, research and education, in close collaboration with among others Karolinska Institutet. Johan Granehult has been responsible for construction-related issues, Magnus Josefsson for service-related issues, Zoran Stambolovski for financing issues, Louise Widén for public procurement issues, Anders Erasmie for tax issues and Madeleine Rydberger for employment law issues. The following lawyers have worked with the matter: Malin Håkansson, Axel Berg, Jenny Gemzell, Ingrid Carlsson, Maria Tholin, Anders Bergsten, Sara Liljedahl and Daniel Waerme.
