SL commissions CAF for new trams for Stockholm
Stockholm Public Transport (SL) has commissioned Construcciones Y Auxiliar De Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF) to deliver new trams to cover the rolling stock needs in relation to several planned extensions of the tram system in the County of Stockholm. The contract covers 121 trams and is valued at approximately SEK 3.3 billion.
SL, a limited company owned by the Stockholm County Council, is responsible for the network of public transportation alternatives in the County of Stockholm and employs approximately 500 people to work with the planning, purchasing, administration, development and marketing of public transport services.
CAF is a leading manufacturer of equipment and components for railway systems and employs over 7 000 people in 25 different countries. The company’s share is listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
