Sixth AP Fund becomes major shareholder in world's biggest solar cell manufacturer
Mannheimer Swartling has advised the Sixth Swedish National Pension Fund (Sixth AP Fund) in the conversion of their shareholding in the R&D company Solibro AB for shares in Q-Cells SE, a German company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The Sixth AP Fund becomes the third largest shareholder in Q-Cells as a result of this transaction, which values the Sixth AP Fund's shareholding at approximately SEK 600 million.
Q-Cells is the largest solar cell manufacturer in the world, with revenues in 2008 of EUR 1,3 billion and over 2,500 employees. Q-Cells SE formerly held 67,5 per cent in a joint venture with Solibro AB and after this transaction now holds 100 per cent of Solibro AB.
Mannheimer Swartling's team was led by Clas Nyberg as the responsible partner, assisted primarily by Oliver Clebald (Frankfurt) and Emma Olnäs Fors and Pontus Danielson (Göteborg).
