Scandic lists on Nasdaq Stockholm
Scandic Hotels Group AB (publ) has been admitted to trading on Nasdaq Stockholm on 2 December 2015. The offering price was set at SEK 67 per share, corresponding to a market value of Scandic of approximately SEK 6.9 billion.
The offering, which comprised an offering to the public in Sweden and international offering to institutional investors, consisted of newly issued shares and existing shares sold by Sunstorm Holding AB. Sunstorm Holding AB is a company controlled by EQT V Limited which is advised by EQT Partners with Accent Equity 2003 fund as co-investor. The total value of the offering, excluding the over-allotment option, amounted to approximately SEK 3.0 billion and corresponded to 43.8% of the total number of shares in Scandic.
Scandic, founded in 1963, is the largest Nordic hotel operator. In total Scandic’s network encompasses 224 hotels and almost 42,000 hotel rooms in seven countries.
EQT and Scandic were advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the offering and the listing. The team handling the transaction, which was led by Nina Svensson, primarily included Eva Hägg, Cecilia Björkwall, Håkan Knutsson, Carl Lindberg, Klara Wessman and Oscar Nilsson. Karin Attorps and Moa Pettersson advised on tax matters, Daniel Karlsson and Karin Eberstål advised on banking and finance related matters and Dr. Maria Wolleh advised on German law.
