Nordic Legal Adviser of the Year, FT/mergermarket European M&A Awards 2012 – second year in a row
“We are very proud to have received this prestigious award for the second year running. We are fortunate to have enjoyed another strong year in what has been a difficult environment for M&A. For this we can only thank our clients,” comments Biörn Riese, chairman of the board and head of global M&A at Mannheimer Swartling.
Mannheimer Swartling was named Nordic Legal Adviser of the Year at the sixth annual European M&A Awards 2012. The award is based on M&A transaction data from mergermarket.com and the strategic nature, complexity and innovativeness of these transactions. The review is conducted by a panel of experts including leading European M&A practitioners, analysts from mergermarket, and correspondents from the Financial Times. Mannheimer Swartling was also the recipient of this award in 2011 and 2009.
“We are privileged to have a truly deep bench in our transactions team – across all our offices in Sweden and in markets of key importance for our clients. This has enabled us to execute effectively on some of the most challenging mandates at a time when deal volumes remain depressed in the wake of the euro crisis, when the macroeconomic climate is uncertain and when financing is still tricky,” continues Biörn Riese.
Mannheimer Swartling’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice offers a depth and breadth virtually unrivalled on the Nordic market. With over 100 M&A lawyers supported by class-leading specialists in tax, employment, environment, competition, intellectual property, information technology, government regulation, insurance, real property, banking and capital markets operating out of 12 offices in six countries, the firm is capable of leading the most demanding cross-border transactions as well as pragmatically and efficiently executing domestic deals. The firm’s lawyers are involved in a majority of the major transactions in Sweden, and Mannheimer Swartling is routinely ranked at the top in all relevant rankings of legal advisors in the Nordic region.
