Nordic Capital invests in AniCura
Nordic Capital Fund VIII invests in AniCura, one of the leading Nordic operators of companion animal hospitals and veterinary clinics. AniCura is currently owned by a large number of staff, the Foundation Djursjukhus i Stor-Stockholm and the Swedish investment firm Fidelio Capital. All parties will remain significant co-owners together with Nordic Capital Fund VIII.
Established in 2011, AniCura constitutes the first significant combination of companion animal hospitals and veterinary clinics in the Nordic region, and is currently the only Nordic veterinary care group exclusively focused on companion animals. The company provides veterinary care in 60 locations and employs more than 1,000 professionals. AniCura caters to half a million patients annually and is a leading entity for education and referrals.
Nordic Capital private equity funds have invested in mid-market companies primarily in the Nordic region since 1989. The most recent fund is Nordic Capital Fund VIII with EUR 3.5 billion in committed capital, principally provided by international institutional investors such as pension funds.
