Mannheimer Swartling has received ISO 14001:2004 certification of its operations in Sweden. The firm was awarded this designation by DNV Business Assurance for its compliance with environmental process standards and effective environmental management systems.
“ISO 14001 certification for all four Sweden office locations in 2013 demonstrates to all of our stakeholders that Mannheimer Swartling is committed to actively minimising the environmental impact of our firm’s operations and services. I am pleased to see that we have already achieved one of several activities outlined in our recently published sustainability report,” says Jan Dernestam, Managing Partner of Mannheimer Swartling, referring to the firm’s Sustainability Report prepared according to the GRI (Global Report Initiative) standard 3.1 and released on 17 June 2013.
Mannheimer Swartling’s sustainability programme addresses sustainability issues relevant to the firm and the legal services industry. In addition to the environment, Mannheimer Swartling has identified the following focus areas for its sustainability efforts: organisation and employees, ethics and regulatory compliance, legal advice and Mannheimer Swartling in the community.
ISO 14001 is the world’s most recognised and used framework for environmental management systems. It is based on the concepts of continual improvement and regulatory compliance.
