Mannheimer Swartling partner Lucas Jonsson relocates to Shanghai
Mannheimer Swartling is pleased to announce that Lucas Jonsson, a partner in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice group, has joined Mannheimer Swartling’s team in China and will become the new chief representative of the Shanghai office.
“China is a market of strategic importance for all our clients and Lucas’ decision to join Mannheimer Swartling’s team in China illustrates the firm’s ambition to continue to have a strong presence in both Shanghai and Hong Kong,” says Jan Dernestam, Managing Partner.
“Our clients see the long term potential in the region and we also face growing interest from Chinese corporates and state-owned enterprises to advise on their outbound matters, particularly to Sweden. This move is an exciting opportunity and I look forward to joining my colleagues in China and contributing to the firm’s continued success in this growing market,” says Lucas Jonsson, partner.
Mr Jonsson has significant experience in cross-border transactions and investments, and his practice includes advising Swedish industrial corporations as well as Swedish and international private equity firms on legal matters in a diversity of sectors – ranging from consumer goods to real property. He joined the firm in 2003 and previously has worked in Mannheimer Swartling’s offices in Malmö and New York. Mr Jonsson is a member of the Swedish Bar Association and received an LL.M. degree from Lund University.
Mannheimer Swartling is the only Scandinavian law firm with offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
