Mannheimer Swartling partner Jakob Ragnwaldh chaired the drafting committee for Stockholm Chamber of Commerce new Arbitration Rules and Rules for Expedited Arbitrations
The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has released draft Arbitration Rules and draft Rules for Expedited Arbitrations to enter into force on 1 January 2017.
An 18-person drafting committee, chaired by Mannheimer Swartling partner Jakob Ragnwaldh, is behind the proposed changes to the rules. The rules were last revised in 2010. The new arbitration rules include a separate appendix for investor-state cases and allow for summary disposal of claims. The separate rules for investor-state cases were added in light of the growing number of such cases.
- The draft rules reflect how the arbitration landscape has changed over time and shows the SCC’s desire to make the whole procedure even more efficient and user-friendly, says Jakob Ragnwaldh.
Stockholm Chamber of Commerce invites all interested users and practitioners to review and comment on the draft Arbitration Rules and draft Rules for Expedited Arbitrations. Read more here
