Mannheimer Swartling and partners win International Law Office Client Choice Awards 2014

Mannheimer Swartling was named Firm of the Year Sweden and Johan Carle and Johan Ljungberg were recognised as winners within the Competition and M&A categories in Sweden, respectively, in the International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Awards 2014.

The ILO Client Choice awards survey senior corporate counsel only and recognise law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide. The criteria for the awards focus on the ability to add real value to clients’ business above and beyond other players in the market. Johan Carle joined Mannheimer Swartling in 1993 after serving in the Stockholm District Court and was elected partner in 1999. He co-chairs the firm’s EU and competition law practice and primarily advises major Scandinavian and international companies. Mr Carle has substantial experience of issues relating to merger control, cartels and abuse of dominant position, as well as public procurement, particularly appeals. He was Mannheimer Swartling’s resident partner in Brussels for almost a decade and maintains strong relations with competition authorities at the national and EU levels.

Johan Ljungberg joined Mannheimer Swartling in 2004 and was elected a partner in 2008. The primary focus of Mr Ljungberg’s practice is mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities law for major Scandinavian and international companies. Mr Ljungberg has substantial experience in transactional work, joint ventures and cooperations, shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements and a wide range of corporate law matters. He frequently advises on complex cross-border deals, representing both public and private companies. Mr Ljungberg was also the recipient of the Client Choice Awards in the M&A category Sweden in 2013.

The ILO Client Choice Awards were established in 2005. This year, ILO recognised 450 individual winners across 73 jurisdictions and the winners will be honoured at a ceremony in London on 7 May 2014. A complete list of winners is available in the Client Choice Guide – International 2014 and fully searchable online at www.ClientChoice.com.
