Langley acquires DruckChemie
Langley Holdings has agreed to acquire DruckChemie, a German print chemicals group that went into administration in September. Merger clearance has been granted and the transaction is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
DruckChemie, with annual revenues of approximately EUR 75 million and around 300 employees, is Europe’s leading producer of chemicals and other consumables for the printing industry. The company has locations throughout Europe and also has operations in Brazil.
Langley Holdings plc is a diverse, privately owned engineering group based in the UK with principal operating divisions located in Germany, France and the UK and more than 70 subsidiaries worldwide. The group produces capital equipment ranging from electrical systems for data centres, machinery for cement plants, food packaging lines, automotive welding equipment and – following the acquisition of the sheet-fed printing business of bankrupt manroland AG in 2012 – printing presses.
Langley was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team in Germany handling the matter was led by Oliver Cleblad (M&A), primarily assisted by Christina Griebeler (Banking and Finance) and Robert Bäuerle (EU and competition).
