KF enters 5-year outsourcing agreement with Atea

KF – The Swedish Cooperative Union – has entered into a 5-year outsourcing agreement with Atea. The agreement, valued at approximately SEK 200 million, entails that KF transfers overall responsibility for all its IT workstations (office and retail), network and user support to Atea. In connection with the outsourcing arrangement, Atea will also take over certain operations and personnel from KF.

KF is a federation of 47 consumer cooperative societies in Sweden, with over 3 million individual members, and a grocery retail trade constituting its core business. This co-operation with Atea, which has the potential to double in scope from 4,000 functions (users) to approximately 8,000 in the future, reflects KF’s strategic decision to outsource its IT operations to reduce costs and focus on improving customer service.

KF was advised by Mannheimer Swartling. Martin Pekkari handled the matter, primarily assisted by Jonas Andersson, Michaela Nilsson and Anders Bergsten.
