Hexpol acquires Horst Müller Kunststoffe

Hexpol has acquired the German company Horst Müller Kunststoffe GmbH & Co.KG for EUR 39 million on a cash and debt free basis. Horst Müller Kunststoffe is a leading Central European manufacturer of thermoplastic elastomer compounds (TPE Compounding). It has around 90 employees and an estimated annual turnover of EUR 46 million.

HEXPOL is a world-leading polymers group with strong global positions in advanced polymer compounds, gaskets for plate heat exchangers and wheels made of plastic and rubber materials for truck and castor wheels application. The HEXPOL Group is organised in two business areas, HEXPOL Compounding and HEXPOL Engineered Products. The group has approximately 3,100 employees in nine countries and pro forma sales in 2010 of above SEK 6.3 billion.

Hexpol was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team was led by Åsa Hansdotter and Dr. Thomas Kaiser-Stockmann, primarily assisted by Dr. Jens Engelmann-Pilger, as well as Anja Kögel and Ulf Christoph Lohrum (due diligence) and Jürgen Busch (competition).
