Green Cargo divests road haulage subsidiary

Green Cargo has sold its road haulage subsidiary, Green Cargo Åkeri, to a new joint venture owned by Hans Paridon, the division’s former managing director, and Swedish Match.

Green Cargo Åkeri’s road haulage operations are primarily conducted in Sweden. The company, with 200 employees and an annual turnover of approximately SEK 200 million, will continue to be an important supplier to Green Cargo. Green Cargo, an international logistics company owned by the Swedish State, focuses on transporting goods by rail-freight. The group has around 3,200 employees in over 100 locations throughout the Nordic region and Europe, and had a turnover of approximately SEK 6.2 billion in 2010.

Green Cargo was advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team was led by Tom Wehtje, primarily assisted by Sophie Ahlberg and Viktor Nykvist.
