DFDS and C.PORTS SA take over ro/ro terminal in Gothenburg
DFDS and C.PORTS SA have jointly acquired Älvsborg Ro/Ro AB and will take over operations of the ro/ro terminal in the Port of Gothenburg. In connection with the acquisition, Älvsborg and the Port of Gothenburg have entered into a 25-year concession agreement, concerning the operation of the terminal and related infrastructure. Subject to the approval of the competition authorities, the transaction leads to two of the port’s largest customers taking over the ro/ro terminal.
The transaction is part of the privatization process of terminal operations at the Port of Gothenburg, which commences with the ro/ro terminal, followed by the container terminal and the car terminal. The Port of Gothenburg is the largest port in the Nordic region.
DFDS is quoted on NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange Copenhagen, and conducts, among others, business in the area of terminal operations and freight in relation to containers, ro/ro and passengers. C.PORTS SA is a Belgian company that conducts terminal operations. C.PORTS S.A. is a part of the Luxembourg based freight shipping and ports group CLdN.
